I am about to embark on a volunteer trip to Salvador in Brazil.
As an employee of Sabre Holding, I was awarded with a $5,000 volunteer grant to participate in Travelocity's Travel for Good progam: http://www.travelocity.com/TravelForGood/cross-culture.html
I have signed up for a 2-week placement with Cross Cultural Solutions, an organization that offers volunteer vacations in 12 different countries where they work with local partner programs. Brazil still has a lot of poverty in and around the cities, and after having visited the country as a tourist in the past, I am very excited to be able to do something for the community in Salvador.
